Should you jump on this offer?
Checking: Chase had a $300 public offer which expired on 3/7/17. If you're not willing to buy a $300 coupon on eBay, might as well do this one.
Savings: The $150 bonus for $10K deposit over 90 days comes to 6% annual interest rate. It is higher than the 5.3% rate you'd get with the now-expired offer for $200 bonus for $15K deposit over 90 days. From a purely savings/investment perspective this offer is better.
If you think that having a Premier (or higher) account with Chase will increase your chances of getting credit card pre-approvals (therefore bypassing Chase's 5/24 rule) there's a $300 bonus offer for opening a Chase Premier Plus Checking account. Here's the direct link to the $300 Premier checking offer, which also expires on April 16, 2017.
Existing Chase checking customers without a savings account
If you qualify for the savings bonus do apply for the $150 public offer or the $200 one ($15K deposit for 90 days) with a coupon from eBay. Also talk to the Chase banker about having a combined $15K or more checking + savings balance to see if that would upgrade you to Premier banking status. It has been the case in the last year or two.
